Retirement & Seniors

The seniors of Manning are a very active group.  Retirement in Manning provides extra socializing time, time with family, recreation and volunteering.  This group is a strong backbone in many of our community organizations.

Retired Manning community members are keeping busy.  Groups of friends get together for morning and afternoon coffees at Jet Express, Cliffs and/or Deb's Corner Cafe. On nice days, you'll catch many local retirees at the golf course for either Monday morning Senior League or just a friendly game.  Many seniors take advantage of water aerobics, adult swim, the weight room, and the hot tub at the Rec Center to stay healthy and interact.   The Senior Center (Manning Community Services) offers lunch both at their facility on South Main Street and delivered meals for the home-bound.  But the Senior Center doesn't just stop with lunch...most days there's a good card game going after lunch.  The City Community Gardens rent plots that the city tills and supplies water to.  Of course community groups always have events and plans to provide volunteer time.  The garden club, American Legion, VFW, the Historic Preservation Commission, and church groups are just a few of the popular groups.

MANNING SENIOR CENTER
612 S Main St.  |  712-655-3417

The Manning Senior Center offers senior citizens of the area a pleasant facility to eat nutritious meals and socialize. The facility was established about 20 years ago and belongs to the community of Manning.
Many activities take place at the center, including card groups every Friday, bingo, community meetings, and other scheduled activities. The MSC van will drive seniors to the center for meals, as well as deliver meals to the homebound. A five-member board and many volunteers are responsible for the facility.

MANNING SENIOR LIVING
