Childcare was the focus as more than 50 area youth completed basic babysitting training at Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) over the course of this past school year. The healthcare organization partners with the Carroll County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offices to bring the program to the Manning area. Babysitters are instructed on how to provide age-appropriate care, how to resolve potentially dangerous situations and how to assist parents with childcare needs. These students are also learning fundamental life skills as well as gaining a sense of responsibility.
