The IKM-Manning Community School District is searching for volunteers to serve on their School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC). The SIAC generally meets twice annually to analyze assessment data and make recommendations to the school board regarding educational needs, student learning, long-term goals and bullying prevention. Ideally, membership on the committee would consist of a wide-range of individuals that represent the diversity of the district, including: socio-economic status, racial and ethnic groups, gender, disability status and age. People wanting to volunteer should be willing to express diverse points of view, display open-mindedness, respect the opinions of others and have an interest in the district’s success. The first SIAC meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library. Willing individuals are asked to contact Superintendent, Trevor Miller, prior to that meeting through the contact points included with this story on our website.
