Area residents are being cautioned after the Manning Chamber of Commerce distributed a notice that counterfeit money has been found in Manning. A very authentic-looking $100 bill was found on a sidewalk on Main Street and was turned in to Templeton Savings Bank. Much like other counterfeit bills found in several area communities, there were some tell-tale markings that are not on real ones, like the Chinese symbol on the back. And, the item was missing something that is on real money, the security markings. The phony currency has been turned in to the Manning Police Department. Anyone with information about the $100 bill can contact them at 712-655-2200.
