As we gather for this Weinachtsfest celebration we take this time to celebrate the successful completion of the Downtown Revitalization project. The project took three years of planning and many months of construction. We are proud to cut the ribbon on the new Main Street tonight. Seventeen buildings went through complete façade transformations totaling over $800,000 in private and public investment. As we cut this ribbon, I’d like to thank the people involved with making it possible:
*The County Supervisors and local businesses and individuals that offer their support of Main Street Manning. Without the Main Street program, this project would not have been possible.
*The State of Iowa and the legislatures for funding the program
*The Committee that worked on the application and the project: DeEtte Grabill, Kirk Huehn, Andy Eischeid, Julie Bauer, Ron Reischl, and Mayor Harvey Dales
*The amazing project manager, Colleen Nelson, who somehow managed to keep everyone informed and sane throughout the whole project.
*The City Council and the Manning utility boards for committing the time and money necessary to make this a reality.
*The City and utilities staff for going above and beyond to call of duty
*The Manning community for the patience and understanding during construction.
*Most importantly, the building owners for having the vision to take part in this project and the patience to see it through.
Thank you again. Congratulations and happy Weinachtsfest!
