More than 290 people came together last Saturday night at Memorial Hall in Manilla to support the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives of the IKM-Manning School District. Topping the more than $90,000 raised last year, the 2019 IKM-Manning Gala raised over $105,000 for the district. But they aren’t done with this fundraiser yet—donations are still being accepted through May 31. According to organizer, Jean Stadtlander, silent and live auctions brought in more than $44,000, with three Slomofo bus tours with Richard and Nikki Sorenson racking up a total of $4,800 and the annual sale and resale of the Wolves table runner topping out at $3,150 this year. The runner went back into the vault for next year’s gala, but this little handmade item has generated more than $14,500 in the past five years. Horizon Equipment raffled a $15,000 Gator that went to Richard Bornhoft with R&S Waste. Sponsors donated over $38,000 and ticket sales for the Lidderdale Country Store-catered event brought in $5,132. Photos, courtesy of Stadtlander, can be found here.
