Every Main Street program is encouraged to submit one Leadership Award nomination to recognize a person or couple who has been an inspirational leader and Main Street volunteer during the duration of the local program.
Dawn Rohe was Manning’s Leadership Award winner. Her nomination stated: “Dawn is the perfect example of the value of youth in leadership roles. As Manning’s City Administrator, she was instrumental in Manning’s successful application to become a Main Street community in 2009. She has served as a board member and officer and her contributions reach far beyond the board room. She has written and/or assisted with Main Street Manning’s Challenge Grant applications, as well as many other local foundation grants. She drove Manning’s CDBG/DTR project from application to completion and successfully pursued Manning’s Commercial Historic District listing on the National Register. Dawn is largely responsible for Manning’s success – PERIOD!
