MANNING TRAILS
City of Manning Dawn Meyer, City Administrator | 712-655-2176 | dawn@manningia.com With over $3.6 million of proposed trails, trail projects will span many years and will be broken down into many phases. Several phases are complete and can be found on the Completed Projects page. The segments that are in progress now are listed below. IKM-Manning School Trail | Estimated Completion: Fall 2022 Phase 2, the south leg of the School Trail, will begin at the end of phase 1 (school) and continue along 10th Street to a paved single lane street on the east side of a residential development. The trail will proceed south to 12th Street where the trail turns east and follows the street. When the trail reaches Center Avenue, it will turn south, again following the street, and end at Nishnabotna Drive. A cross walk will be provided at Nishnabotna Drive for children to use in the adjacent neighborhood. This section of the trail is 4,335 feet long. Sand Volley Ball | Completed: 2020
City of Manning Dawn Meyer | 712-655-2176 | dawn@manningia.com The goal of creating Trestle Park is to create a variety of fun and educational activities for the whole family close to home. Sand Volleyball is a natural fit, providing fun and exercise for the all ages. |
Hillside Splash | Estimated Completion: 2021 (Phase I & II)
City of Manning Dawn Meyer 712-655-2176 dawn@manningia.com Fundraising and final design for the Hillside Splash are being done now! This outdoor addition on the West edge of the Rec Center will be broken into phases. Phase one will offer an outdoor pool option to patrons--complete with zero-entry and water toys. Plans for future phases include two large water slides and a splash pad area. |
Nature Play Area Estimated Completion: 2021
City of Manning Dawn Meyer 712-655-21176 dawn@manningia.com Plans for creating an outdoor nature play area are being made to enhance the Manning Trestle Park experience. The purpose is to encourage children to be active, give them a break from being indoors, and support learning in a variety of environments all in a safe and organized area. |
Outdoor Exercise Equipment Estimated Completion: 2022
