Child Care

The Manning Child Care Center is on N. Main Street. The new facility completed construction and opened in September 2002. The center provides child care for infants through school-age children. There are several home day care providers in the area. For a child care referral, contact the Child Care Resource & Referral at 1-800-999-5101.

 

Licenses

Driving Driver's Licenses may be obtained in Carroll at the driver's license station on Tuesdays - Fridays (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturdays (8 a.m to 2 p.m).

Postal Services

City, rural, and post-office mail delivery is available through the Manning U.S. Post Office located at 216 Main St. Mail drop box is available. The business window is open Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m until 11:45a.m & 12:45 to 4:30p.m. Saturday hours are 8:30a.m. - 9:30a.m.

 

Quakerdale Youth Center

Founded in 1851 by Philadelphia Quaker Josiah White, Quakerdale began as an orphanage and has evolved into a statewide, private, non-profit social service agency.

 

Today Quakerdale provides a continuum of preventive and therapeutic services to approximately 1,000 Iowa youth and families who are experiencing crisis or difficulty in their lives. Quakerdale is owned and operated under the auspices of the Iowa Yearly Meeting of Friends (Quakers). Facilities are located in Manning, Marshalltown, New Providence, and Waterloo.

Senior Center

Senior Center

 

The Manning Senior Center offers senior citizens of the area a pleasant facility to eat nutritious meals and socialize. The facility was established about 20 years ago and belongs to the community of Manning.

 

Many activities take place at the center, including card groups every Friday, bingo, community meetings, and other scheduled activities. The MSC van will drive seniors to the center for meals, as well as deliver meals to the homebound. A five-member board and many volunteers are responsible for the facility.
