HELP WANTED:  Full Time Police Officer

The City of Manning (population 1500) is seeking a full time Police Officer.  Iowa Law Enforcement Academy certification preferred, but not required.  Will train the right person.  Applicants will undergo a written examination, a background check, and a physical fitness test.  Position
open until filled.  Salary DOQ. Benefits include health and

The City of Manning is now hiring a temporary summer employee.  This  employee's main job function will be mowing and weed-eating the park, cemetery,

Dawn started with the City in 2006 as Deputy City Clerk for about six months, was City Clerk for three years, and has been City Clerk/Administrator since 2011.  She enjoys the challenges that come with working with City Government.  Her favorite aspects of the job include grant writing, public interaction, and community development.

A Manning native, Anna started working for the City part-time in 2010 and went to full-time in 2011.  Not only does she handle the day-to-day functions of City Hall, she also helps ensure Manning's high water quality by doing lab work daily.  Accounting and people interaction are Anna's favorite parts of the job.

Extensively remodeled in 2008 and part of the inter-library loan program.  The library features an inviting kid's section, four public computers with internet access, wifi access, public fax and copy machines.  2 Meeting Rooms.

The Parks and Rec Department oversees the City Park, the Warren Timmerman Shelter House, the Rec Center, and multiple youth and adult recreation programs.  The newest project includes trying to implement a trail system in town.

The Manning City Cemetery is located south on Center Street.  There are currently over 10,000 spaces and have been over 3,000 burials at the City cemetery in the last 100+ years.
