This rock surface was particularly challenging, but I love a challenge. The front (road facing side) I wanted to feature a neat train trestle that still operates in Manning. The Milwaukee trestle was so important during WWII that there were guards posted at it to protect it from attacks. On the east side, as many of you know I love painting the American Flag and eagles, I painted an eagle carrying a shield with a quote on it. On the south side I featured the homefront, a police officer, a nurse, a fireman and a combine (farmer). On the west side I feature each branch of our military.
You'll definitely have to visit this one in person to appreciate the artwork on a rough rock. Hope you all like it, now on to the next Freedom Rock! Bubba Sorenson
