We encourage EVERYONE to vote in the school board elections. Shelby County Auditor is in charge of the election and because of the simplicity of the absentee voting process they have designated one polling spot at the Manilla Fire Hall. If you are unable to travel to Manilla to vote, a request form with the address is attached. Absentee ballots are also available at local Manning Banks and at City Hall. You can fill out the form and drop off at these locations by Tuesday, August 20th at noon and they will be mailed to the Shelby County Auditor together. After that you will need to mail the request form on your own.
Once the auditor gets the “original” signed request, they will mail the ballot out within 24 hours. The last day to request a ballot to be mailed out is Friday, September 6. They remind everyone to allow plenty of time for mail delivery, because the ballot needs to be back in their office by election day unless there is a valid postmark of no later than the day before election. Anyone can vote in person in the Shelby County Auditor’s Office during office hours through the day before election. They are open M-F – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
