Before the temperature goes down, it’s time to decorate for the holidays. The Manning Chamber of Commerce appreciates the many families that decorate their homes for the holidays. This year, residents are being encouraged to decorate early so lights can be enjoyed during Weihnachtsfest, Nov. 29, and throughout the holidays.
Beginning Nov. 25, judging will be done and four winners will be announced at Weihnachtsfest, following the parade. Each winner will receive $25 in Chamber dollars.
Please join the fun, hang the lights and switch them on Nov. 25.
The holidays are fast approaching. Many volunteers are busy working to make it a good Christmas for Manning. Despite the odd appearance of Main Street right now, businesses are being asked to remain positive and do what they can to give Manning a holiday appearance. Businesses that have windows are asked to outline the inside of their windows with colored lights. Some of those without windows are getting creative and may be painting holiday scenes on their plywood. We hope you will challenge yourself and your staff to find a way to bring a holiday appearance to your location.
The Chamber is providing four $25.00 prizes for a residential contest that will be announced in this week’s Monitor. Winners will be announced at Weihnachtsfest.
Holiday Open House will be held next week Thursday, Nov. 14, 5:30-8:30. Several businesses are approaching this as an appreciation and will be serving wine and snacks. PLEASE NOTE: registration for the Chamber holiday dollars will begin on Nov. 14. All businesses are asked to stop at the Main Street office Wednesday, Nov. 13 and pick up drawing materials. Containers and special registration slips of paper will be provided. Business owners, please pick up your container by Nov. 13 from Colleen.
