Chamber receives $10,000,
announces promotion Made possible by a $10,000 gift from Ag Processing (AGP), the Manning Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a promotion and give the money to shoppers. Starting Monday, Aug. 10, residents will be able to purchase $20 in Chamber Bucks and an additional $15 will be added compliments of AGP, giving them $35. Each family is limited to purchasing a total of $100 in Chamber Bucks which gives them $175 to shop locally. The money from AGP was provided to Manning as Covid relief funding. The soybean processing/refining company provided funds to 10 communities where facilities are located; a total gift of $100,000 from AGP. The Iowa towns of, Eagle Grove, Emmetsburg, Mason City, Sergeant Bluff, and Sheldon received funds in addition to Manning. Also, facilities in Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota received funds. “The pandemic has negatively impacted families and communities across America this year and we want to support and encourage the many different volunteer organizations who are responding to local needs and providing relief in the communities in which we operate,” said AGP Chief Executive Officer Keith Spackler. “AGP’s contributions to these community-based organizations will support those important efforts.” “The receipt of this donation from AGP could not come at a better time as parents get children ready to return to school,” said Manning Chamber President Kirk Huehn. “As the virus continues to affect residents of the Manning community families can certainly use this help. We are extremely grateful to AGP for their generosity.” Manning Chamber Bucks can be spent at any of the 75 current Chamber businesses. The funds can be used for doctor visits and physicals, dental visits, groceries, gas and utility bills, pet grooming and more. A list of businesses able to accept Chamber Bucks will be furnished with each purchase. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this offer should stop at Templeton Savings Bank or its drive thru to place your order (quantity 1 to 5) starting Aug. 10. This promotion will allow at least 133 families to benefit from the gift (if each family purchases the limit of 5) and will pump $23,300 into the local economy. This promotion will continue as long as the money lasts. For more information or to place your order for Chamber Bucks, call 712.655.3541 or email chamber@manningia.com. |
