![]() Donors of all blood types needed now to avert a summer shortage The American Red Cross is urging donors of all blood types to schedule an appointment to donate blood now to help avert a summer shortage. The Red Cross must collect about 17,000 blood donations every day to keep up with patient needs. On average, during the summer two fewer donors give blood at each Red Cross blood drive than what patients need. Go to redcrossblood.org/summer to view videos featuring four individuals whose lives were changed by blood donors — stories that illustrate the profound importance of donating blood. Join the conversation and help motivate others to give by sharing summer donation stories online: o Twitter: Share your story and use the #summerofstories hashtag. o Facebook: Encourage friends to join you this summer by donating blood to give someone a summer of stories. Be sure to share your own donation experiences and pictures, too. o Instagram: Share your story in a picture and then tag it with #summerofstories. o Website: Visit redcrossblood.org/summer to share your story on the Red Cross website. Upcoming blood drive: Manning Community Blood Drive Friday, July 26th – Noon-6pm Sacred Heart Church – Fellowship Hall Please contact Vickie at 653-3418 to schedule an appointment. |
