May 17, 2012 - Kids Fishing Day at the Great Western Park. The Carroll County Conservation Board is hosting a free Kids Fishing Day from 5:30pm – 7:30pm on Thursday, May 17 at the Great Western Park in Manning. Bait and poles are provided. They will be grilling hot dogs for supper. Bring the kids or grandkids and come join us for a fun evening of fishing! Please call (712) 792-4614 to sign up for this free event.

Serving maidrites, hot dogs, potato salad, chips and bars from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Hosted by Zion Board of Education, with proceeds to purchase supplies for Vacation Bible School. June 9, 2012 - Free Christian Concert at the Hausbarn-Heritage Park featuring performers Swen and Dean. The concert will be held outdoors in the grove, 5:00 - 9:00 pm. In addition to music performances, many family games and activities are planned. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and simply relax and listen to the Christian music. All young people will receive a free t-shirt.

June 16, 2012 - Kinderfest – Manning’s 129th annual tradition will be held on Father's Day weekend. It is believed to be the oldest heritage celebration in Iowa.This festival provides a day of good old-fashioned family fun for children of all ages!The day is highlighted by an annual parade of children beginning at 11 am, followed by traditional king and queen contests. The city park overflows with games, contests, rides, foods, water fights, 5K fun run, and musical entertainment. All-day wrist bands are available for the blow-up rides. June 24, 2012 – 10th Annual Midwest Old Iron Tractor Ride and Fun Day
Great Western Park, southwest edge of Manning
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Great Western Park with the drive starting at 9:30 am. Following the 20 to 25 mile tractor ride, lunch and a variety of activities for the whole family will be enjoyed at the Great Western Park. Tractors 1960 and older may participate. Manning's annual city-wide garage sales coincides with the Hwy. 141 event. Manning features farmer's market, concession stands and a flea market in the city park. November 23, 2012 - Weihnachtsfest - Manning's 25th annual festival will open with traditional ceremony Friday evening featuring a lighted parade, mass lighting of Main Street, festival of trees, holiday music, the arrival of Santa Claus and special children's activities. Holiday events continue through the weekend, providing special holiday events for all ages and the Christmas Walk through the City Park with beautiful lighted displays.
