Manning’s 125th annual tradition will be held on Father's Day weekend, June 14, with several activities planned to make it even bigger and better than ever! CLICK HERE FOR A PRINTABLE FLYER! TEEN DANCE--Friday, June 13th 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. FREE ADMISSION! Friday night kicks off the Kinderfest celebration with a teen dance in the parking lot of the Manning Recreation Center on Center Street with Mead Music providing entertainment. BILL RILEY TALENT COMPETITION--Friday 7-11 p.m. FREE ADMISSION! The Bill Riley Talent Show is a long-standing Iowa tradition. Manning will host a qualifying show on the Friday night of Kinderfest at the High School Auditorium. The winner will go on to compete at the Iowa State Fair. Come to participate or just to enjoy the talented people from the area. There are competitions for Sprouts (age 2-12) and Seniors (age 13-21). Join in the fun at the park with lots of games and food booths. Come with an appetite! Food available includes burgers, brats, cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, pie, pizza, walking tacos, and more! Game booths include basketball, tatoos, bingo, ring toss, paddle wheel, cake walk, and more! Raffle tickets can be bought for a chance to win wonderful prizes including the popular Nintendo Wii. ANNUAL PARADE--Saturday @ 1:30 The parade route for this year's celebration has been expanded. Floats will line up at the Catholic Church. Children will join the parade on North Main Street, as in previous years. Children that march will receive free ice cream at the end.The parade will include a stilt walker and costumed animals. RIDES
This year's celebration will feature inflatable rides that kids of all ages can enjoy. Some of the rides include: rat race, giant slide, catapillar, gladiator jousting, bounce house, and more! Access to the rides is unlimited with the purchase of a wrist-band. Wristbands are $10 and will be available to buy early at Manning City Hall or you can buy them at the information booth the day of Kinderfest. The Army National Gaurd will also be there with a Rock Wall. To the right is a picture of the Rat Race ride. WATERFIGHTS 2:30 Sign up at the site TRACTOR PULLS (Hosted by the FFA) LASER TAG BASEBALL TOURNAMENT The tournament starts at 8 a.m. at the City Ball Diamond on the West side of the park. PEO BOOK FAIR--Senior Citizens Center FREE REC CENTER USE! 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Too much sun? Enjoy the weight room, Indoor Pool, Gym, and more for FREE at the Manning Rec Center. TRADITIONAL ROYALTY CONTEST- 2 p.m. @ REC CENTER Join in the fun! Girls compete in the ball toss for a chance to win prizes! Boys compete in the target shoot to win prizes. Children age 10 - 14 compete to become the King and Queen. Children age 5 - 9 compete to become the Prince and Princess. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 winners in each class. 5K ROAD RACE AND 2 MILE FUN RUN/WALK Starting Saturday at 8 a.m. join in the Kinderfest Road Race! BALLOON BRIGADE Jered the Incredible (formerly known as Jered the Better than Average) and Poppin' Penelope, the World's Best Balloon Artist ever will be entertaining people of all ages with their balloon twisting abilities, humor, and magic. LOCAL MUSICIANS Local favorites, Brian and Char Joens, will perform in City Park West from 5 - 7 p.m. Ferd the Snerd, out of Carroll, will perform at the ball fields from 7 - 9 p.m. OTHER ENTERTAINMENT *Mead Music *Clowns *AND MUCH MUCH MORE FIREWORKS will start at dark following the bands. |
